Description: Reduced control of cell division throughout development; fewer cells in many organs; decreased root mass compared to wild type (fewer lateral roots); roots and cotyledons have the appearance of dark-grown wild type; light-grown plants exhibit a rotundifolia-like leaf shape (round leaves); blunt siliques; decreased apical dominance relative to wild type; dark-grown seedlings have short hypocotyls (because of a reduced number of elongated cells) and open hooks typical of light-irradiated seedlings; altered ABA, auxin and sugar sensing; kannamycin resistant or silenced; confirmed line isolated from original SALK line; homozygous for the insertion.
